Banking Support
We guide you through opening a bank account in Montenegro, prepare your documents and accompany you at the account opening — you open the account in person.
Opening a company or personal account in Montenegro proceeds relatively smoothly with the right bank choice and complete documents; but preparation is essential regarding banks’ compliance processes and source-of-funds documents. With Montenegro’s operational entry into SEPA in October 2025, intra-European euro transfers became faster and cheaper. At MGT, we accompany you from bank selection to document preparation; you open the account in person, per the bank’s policy — we do not do this step on your behalf.

What changed after SEPA?
- Since October 2025, Montenegro is an operational SEPA member; intra-European euro transfers (nearly 40 countries, including all EU members) can be made faster, cheaper and under standard rules.
- For individuals, the first €200 per day is free; for electronic transfers up to €20,000 the maximum fee is around €1.99 (may vary by bank policy).
- Note: SEPA does not “newly” put Montenegro on the euro (Montenegro already uses the euro), does not on its own grant EU membership, and does not change tax rules. As Türkiye is not a SEPA member, transfers to Türkiye are subject to different rules; we assess this separately.
